What are ‘Off-Plan’ Developments?
These are opportunities to buy a property before it has been built. As there will be nothing to see at this stage you will effectively be buying the property ‘from the plans’. Some estate agents will offer opportunities to buy off-plan – make enquiries with a few and ask to be included on any mailing lists they have. Also establish whether any discounts apply for an early purchase.
Remember – these properties aren’t built yet! Check the build time if the new house or apartment is for yourself – where will you live whilst the development is being completed?
Property Investment Clubs
Some property investment companies/clubs offer off-plan property developments at discounted prices. Essentially you are offered a discount against the projected sale price because pre-build sales are advantageous to the builder/developer. In return for their services and the discounts they have secured these companies may ask for a membership fee and/or a commission for the saving they make for you. In all cases you should establish for yourself that the discount offered is genuine and weigh up the savings against costs.
